What is Gate Valve?

The stem remains in a fixed position, and the gate is raised and lowered within the valve body.

Types of Wedge:

• Solid Wedge Gate Valve:  The most common type, featuring a single-piece, solid wedge that provides excellent sealing characteristics.

• Flexible Wedge Gate Valve:  Incorporates a two-piece wedge with a cut along the center to enhance flexibility, allowing the valve to accommodate changes in temperature and reduce the likelihood of binding.

• Split Wedge Gate Valve:  Consists of two separate gate segments that are free to move independently. This design helps improve sealing in applications where the valve may be subject to thermal expansion or contraction.
