What is a Globe Valve?

Key Components of a Globe Valve:

Types of Globe Valves:

• Straight Pattern Globe Valve:
  The most common type where the inlet and outlet ports are in line with each other. It is suitable for applications requiring a straight-through flow path.

• Angle Pattern Globe Valve:
  The inlet and outlet ports are arranged at an angle, usually 90 degrees. This design helps in changing the direction of flow, making it suitable for applications with space constraints.

• Y-Pattern Globe Valve:
  Combines the characteristics of both straight and angle pattern valves. The flow path forms a Y-shape, allowing for improved pressure drop characteristics and reduced turbulence.

Functionality:
When the valve is open, the disk is lifted, allowing the fluid to flow through the annular space between the disk and seat. As the valve is closed, the disk is lowered onto the seat, blocking the flow.
